The Silk Wash Ritual: How to Wash Silk (Yes, Even in the Machine)

We hear this question often: “Can I wash silk in the washing machine?”
Yes and when you do it the right way, silk stays exactly as it should: fluid, soft, luminous, and beautifully alive.

The Maia way: washing silk in the machine
1) Choose the gentlest program
Select Silk / Delicates (or your softest cycle).
2) Give silk its own space
Turn the piece inside out and place it in a mesh laundry bag , so it moves gently, without friction.
3) Add Silk Wash
Use 2–3 pumps in the detergent drawer (or directly into the drum).
Silk Wash is formulated to cleanse without stripping, preserving the beauty of the fiber.

If you prefer hand-washing:
Use lukewarm water, add 2–3 pumps of Silk Wash, and move the fabric lightly (no rubbing, no twisting).
Rinse in cool water and dry in the shade, just the same.

Why Silk Wash feels different
Silk Wash isn’t a laundry product: it’s a care ritual.
Gentle plant-based cleansers meet skin-loving ingredients like oat amino acids, panthenol, and vitamin E, finished with refined natural aromatic notes, so the fabric stays delicate, and your hands stay comforted.
